So I was researching this one a bit on wikipedia.org and it mentioned that "only 75 of the original 370 Mysterious Traveler episodes still exist"

Does anyone know why this is the case? I LOVE this series and just wish I could get into some more of them!

I'd guess it's the same reason some others are incomplete. Either not every episode was recorded or it was only put on transcription disks and no other media that was likely to stand up to use. Remember the shows were throw away entertainment back then. It was done live and once the show was over it was gone.

That's really interesting - I'm not that familliar with the history of them/how they were regarded at the time so that makes since. Shame though - it's a brilliant series

The movies were the same way back then. Studios would have burning days on which they would burn their old movies to make room in the vaults for new ones. Back then they didn't think anyone would want to see last yrs movies again. There was no film preservation at the time. Course the stock they used tended to degrade over time too. Most of the radio shows we have now were recorded at the time so that the ad people could see that their product was being represented. aka. The lux radio hour (lux soap) etc.
