What is the best, simplest, free program to record audio from the internet?
I am new at this, so I don't know which program would be the easiest to use for a beginner. Do they come with burners or do you have to export to a burning program?
Thanks any help anyone might offer.

Before I upgraded to the not-free Total Recorder software, I used the free Audacity for a couple of years. It works pretty well but I had to learn to turn off all the sounds my computer's operating system makes, because the recording would pick it up.
You need to download the LAME MP3 encoder if you want to save the recording as an MP3, but that's all automatic after the first time you use it.

One of the useful features with it is that if the recording is low-volume you can select the recording and just hit "Amplify".
I use that feature a lot.
For burning MP3s to CD, I use the programme CD Burner XP Pro which is also free. _________________ tuned in from down under |

I'll second what Mike said. I've used both of those programs before. Very good.

I use a program that is no longer available or supported called 'Sound Capture'
'Mp3 My Mp3' is another free program which works well for recording streaming audio
As far as burning . . you can't beat Nero as far as an 'all-in-one' burning/processing program
Nero isn't free, but you can usually get an OEM version bundled with a DVD writer _________________

If I have any questions you guys will know the answers. Right?

I'm sure we can all put our heads together and figure it out.
