Oh nice, I've always liked Guy Madison and Andy Devine in this show.
It was also the inspiration for a long-running Australian western The Adventures of Smoky Dawson
 And look - 100th post!

| During the Fifties, Guy Madison and Andy Devine not only did their regular television show, but also a radio show three times a week, M-W-F, also for Kellogg's Corn Pops. Andy Devine came on with that booming voice of his, bellowing "Wild Bill Hickcock." The gunshots and the music that followed would no doubt bring parental wrath in the form of a father saying, "Turn that #%@# radio down." Guy and Andy taught us young buckeroos right from wrong, but they also indirectly gave us bad table manners by telling us to eat Sugar Corn Pops right out of the box. Nobody said anything about who was going to clean up the sticky mess on the floor. And of course our dentists just loved clean our teeth after we cosumed whole boxes of that stuff. |
