I thought I'd post about one of my absolute favorite OTR sci fi shows, "Fire in the Sky," broadcast on 8-28-1951 on The Mysterious Traveler. The show begins with newlyweds driving on a lonely country road being suddenly flagged down by a distressed old man who tells them that he's a miner and that his partner is hurt in the mine and needs help. They agree to assist, despite some reservations, but it turns out that the old man's real motive is to lure as many people underground as possible before a massive "radioactive comet" strikes, annihalating most life on Earth. Of course, most people think he's crazy, and they won't allow him to try to save them. The cast features Bret Morrison (who voiced The Shadow for many years), Joyce Gordon (who appeared in the X Minus One episodes "Nightmare" and "The Moon is Green," and Leon Janney, who also later appeared on X Minus One. The episode was written by Robert Arthur and David Kogan. I must add the caveat that, although I love this episode and have listened to it many times, the ending is a bit corny. Still, overall, it's a wonderful show. Photo below is of Bret Morrison (in his "Shadow" gear), who plays Nicholas Ramsey in the show, and is courtesy of Wikipedia.org.

I have heard that show several times and I like it as well. You are not alone on this one.

That sounds like a good one to me.
