A Tokyo MurderA Tokyo Murder tells the story of the murder of Daisy Whitelock, an English teacher in Japan. It views the story from three perspectives: Part One follows English Detective Inspector Julie Hill, who is dispatched to serve as a liaison with the Tokyo police during the investigation. Part Two tells the story of Daisy. Part Three narrates the tale from the perspective of Daisy's parents. The prolific writer and director John Dryden directed the performance. A Tokyo Murder is loosely based on the 2007 real-life murder of Lindsay Hawker, a British ex-pat working as a teacher in Tokyo. To illustrate just how loosely, the show first aired in 2008, a year before the real-life Hawker case was solved. For more information, see the British Library's Diversity Website.
