California Melodies

California Melodies showcases the musical and orchestral skill of David Rose, award-winning composer and arranger. The show featured his compositions, as well as classical and popular songs by many other composers as arranged by Rose. Maxine Gray served as the regular vocalist.

In a long career, Rose wore many musical hats. He was Red Skelton's musical director for two decades. He scored films such as Forbidden Planet, an excellent science fiction film which starred a young Leslie Nielsen; Operation Petticoat; and Please Don't Eat the Daisies. In addition, he wrote scores for television shows as diverse as Highway Patrol, Men into Space, and Sea Huny.
